Cuban-Style Pork Grilled Cheese with Lime Zest

This Cuban-Style Pork Grilled Cheese takes everything you love about Cuban sandwiches—pork, pickles, cheese—and levels it up with a garlicky Dijon spread and bright lime zest. It’s a flavor bomb that’s fast, satisfying, and made better with the Microplane Classic Zester.

 Ingredients

  • 4 slices Cuban or French bread
  • 1 cup roasted pork, shredded or thinly sliced
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4–6 dill pickle slices
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 garlic clove (use the Microplane to grate)
  • 1 lime (zest only)
  • 1 tbsp butter

 Instructions

  1. Mix mayo and Dijon mustard. Grate fresh garlic into the spread using the Microplane Zester.
  2. Spread on one side of each bread slice. Add Swiss cheese, pork, and pickles. Top with the second slice, mayo side in.
  3. Butter the outside of the sandwich and grill in a pan over medium heat for 3–4 minutes per side until crisp and golden.
  4. Finish with a flourish: Grate fresh lime zest over the top just before serving for a citrusy lift.
