Elite Five Blade Box Grater with Measuring Cup

Thought I found a buy-for-life box grater, only lasted 3 months. I’ve been using Microplane gear for decades and have nothing but glowing revues of all the other stuff I have, this grater doesn’t live up to my expectations of a Microplane product. The handle broke clean off during use, after several pieces of the plastic frame had already come off. Wish I kept the receipt.

The handle on my grater box broke quickly. A Fred replacement was promptly mailed.
So far it’s a 0 for quality and a 5 for customer service. We’ll have to see where we end up once the dust settles.

Microplane is selling a known defective product with the wrong plastic formulation ( low ductility and modulus of elasticity) for this frame & handle to not crack under grating stress not to mention the lame handle attachment that will also break sooner than later. The sad part is no one seems to care and offer a stronger frame and handle replacement for all of us commenting about broken handles and frames.
Grater parts are great their plastic not so much. Hire a plastics engineer please.

The grate portion of this grater is fantastic. The surrounding plastic starting breaking in under a year. After 18 months the handle is broken off, most every corner is broke and the graters are starting to fall out. Microplane makes great products, but this one is trash

I loved this box grater it did a fabulous job but it is not dishwasher safe. It is too big to stand up on the top rack and doesn't get clean if you lay it on its side. So we proceeded to place it on the bottom rack and eventually the plastic all cracked and broke apart. I can only assume it was from being close to the heating element during the drying cycle. I just wish there was an all metal version
