Elite Series Fine Grater with Catcher

SKU: 49704-1PK
Sale price$18.99
Color: Green

The Microplane Elite Series includes a transparent cover that doubles as a grating catch feature and measuring cup with a generous 1-cup capacity. Use the stainless steel Microplane® fine blade to create flavorful citrus zest without any of bitter white pith just under the fruit’s peel. It's stellar at grating aromatics, such as shallots, onions, garlic and ginger into a fine paste that melts and blends instantly with other ingredients in a pan, as well as transforming Parmesan and other hard cheese into powdery mounds for garnishing pasta and other savory dishes.

Use a Fine Cheese Grater for:

Citrus Zest, Chilies, Cinnamon, Coconut Ginger, Garlic, Onions and Hard Cheeses. The result will be a fine powder or paste.

Use & Care

  • Dishwasher Safe: Place the grater in the dishwasher for easy cleaning.
  • Hand-Washing Recommended: For longevity, hand wash with warm, soapy water.
  • Store Safely: Reattach the protective cover to shield the blades when not in use.
  • Measuring Convenience: Collect and measure grated ingredients directly in the transparent cover with a 1-cup capacity.
  • Apply Even Pressure: For uniform zests or grates, apply even pressure while dragging the food across the blades.

I bought this fine grater to zest a lime. It's very sharp and did a great job. The plastic catcher was a big help, and it doubles as a blade protector while stored in drawers. The drawback is the cover doesn't fit very well in the stored position. It's too loose and falls off..

sharp, but cover is bad design

sharp, excellent for zesting. But, cover is a sloppy fit. Can fall off when picking up. Worse is that blades can hit cover when removing and grate off some plastic which is lodged in the blades.

The blades are nice and sharp but the catcher is not so good. Six months old, not used more than a dozen times, never dropped, and the catcher has developed a crack in the center, so it falls off the grater part. Fortunately they are available separately. I'll probably have to order a few at this rate.
