I bought the Master Series Fine Grater - American Walnut Handle to replace a cheap Ikea grater I had been using daily for 0ver 8 years. There was nothing wrong with the grater, I just felt the beautiful looking Master Series Fine Grater would be a great addition to my kitchen. After 13 months of daily use the micro welds that hold the grater to the frame have cracked and come away rendering this once great tool broken. Really disappointing as it was a great tool but failed by the poorly executed design and manufacture.
This is the one Microplane grater that I trust not to break in two weeks; no plastic in the crucial structural elements, just metal.
this product works great and design is also gorgeous. It gives me happiness every time I use it.
